Caribbean RFID's silicone wristbands are rated IP68 — the highest standard waterproof rating for wearables, certified for full submersion up to 30 metres depth. In practical resort terms, this means guests can swim, snorkel, use water slides, float in swim-up bars, and spend entire days in and out of pools and the Caribbean Sea without any effect on wristband functionality. The RFID chip reads reliably at every dry access point after any level of water exposure.

While Caribbean RFID specialises in eco-certified credentials, silicone wristbands serve an important role in resort programmes: for genuinely aquatic environments where guests are continuously in water, IP68-rated silicone is the technically appropriate choice. Many properties operate dual-credential programmes — eco wood bead or organic cotton wristbands as the primary check-in credential, with silicone wristbands available for guests who request them for water park or diving days.

Food-Grade Silicone Material

Caribbean RFID silicone wristbands are manufactured from food-grade silicone — the same material standard used in kitchen utensils and baby products. This means the material is free from BPA, phthalates, and the range of plasticisers associated with conventional PVC wristbands. For properties where skin safety documentation matters — eco-resorts, wellness properties, family resorts — food-grade silicone provides a meaningful material quality distinction over standard PVC wristbands.

UV Resistance for Caribbean Conditions

Caribbean silicone wristbands are UV-stabilised to resist colour fading and material degradation under prolonged direct sun exposure. Standard silicone can yellow, fade, or become brittle under the intensity of Caribbean sunlight over multi-day wear. Caribbean RFID's UV-resistant formulation maintains colour integrity and flexibility throughout a typical multi-day resort stay.

MIFARE Compatibility

Silicone wristbands are available with MIFARE Classic 1K, DESFire EV2, and DESFire EV3 chip options. The RFID module is sealed within the silicone wristband housing, fully protected against water ingress — IP68 rating applies to the complete sealed unit including the RFID electronics. Read performance is not affected by water on the wristband surface at the moment of tap. Caribbean RFID confirms your lock system chip requirements before manufacturing.

Branding and Customisation

Silicone wristbands support debossed (recessed) logo and text branding — your property name or logo pressed into the silicone surface for a permanent, high-quality finish. Colour-fill debossing (contrasting colour filled into the debossed impression) adds visual impact. Ink printing on silicone is also available. Custom pantone-matched silicone colours are available in any combination — single colour, two-tone, or segmented.

Sizing and Closure

Silicone wristbands are available in adult sizing (Small/Medium/Large) and child sizing. Closure options include snap fastening (most common for resort programmes), slide-release buckle, and stretch silicone (no closure required). Snap-fastening wristbands are tamper-evident — once fastened, they cannot be removed without cutting, which is appropriate for all-inclusive programmes where credential transfer is operationally important to prevent.
