Caribbean RFID's wood bead wristbands combine traditional craft aesthetics with modern RFID access technology. Each wristband features FSC-certified natural wood beads threaded on a durable cord or elastic base, with a precision-embedded RFID chip and antenna sealed within a protective wooden element. The RFID module is entirely invisible to guests — delivering seamless access without compromising the natural material aesthetic.

Wood bead wristbands are the preferred choice for boutique eco-lodges, nature resorts, and eco-luxury all-inclusive properties where the guest experience is built around authentic natural materials. They deliver the same RFID functionality as conventional silicone wristbands — room access, cashless payments, spa and F&B charging, pool and beach club entry — while eliminating the petroleum-derived silicone waste that a typical Caribbean resort generates in the tens of thousands annually.

FSC Chain-of-Custody Certification

All wood bead wristbands supplied by Caribbean RFID use FSC-certified wood sourced through an FSC chain-of-custody (CoC) certified supply chain. FSC CoC certification means the wood can be traced from a responsibly managed FSC-certified forest through every step of production to the finished product. Caribbean RFID provides FSC CoC certificate documentation on request — suitable for inclusion in Green Globe, Travelife, and EarthCheck sustainability audit submissions.

MIFARE Chip Compatibility

Wood bead wristbands are available with three MIFARE chip configurations to match your hotel lock system:

• MIFARE Classic 1K — the most widely installed chip globally, compatible with the majority of installed VingCard, dormakaba, SALTO, Onity, and Kaba lock systems. Suitable for basic room access and cashless payment functions.
• MIFARE DESFire EV2 — AES-128 encryption, multi-application capable. One wristband can hold room access + cashless payment + spa + beach club applications simultaneously. Compatible with VingCard Signature, VingCard Vostio, dormakaba Ambiance v3+, SALTO SVN, and Onity Director.
• MIFARE DESFire EV3 — latest generation with enhanced Secure Unique NFC Message (SUN) authentication. For properties installing VingCard Vostio 2022+ or equivalent next-generation lock software.

Customisation Options

Wood bead wristbands are available with a range of customisation options to reinforce your property's brand identity:

• Custom bead colours — stained or painted natural wood in your brand palette
• Custom cord or elastic colours
• Custom charm element: a small shaped or engraved wood charm carrying your logo or property name
• Adjustable sizing to fit adult, teen, and children's wrist sizes
• Sliding knot, elastic stretch, or clasp closure options

A pre-production digital proof and physical sample are provided before full manufacturing on all custom orders.

Suitable Environments

Wood bead wristbands are splash-resistant and handle brief water exposure adequately for typical resort conditions — poolside splashing, perspiration, tropical rain, beach and bar environments. They are not designed for continuous full submersion. For guests who swim continuously while wearing their credential (water parks, swim-up bar environments, aquatic activity programs), Caribbean RFID's IP68-rated silicone RFID wristbands are the appropriate choice.
